 Starting PowerPoint  

          The steps to tart PowerPoint are:
1.      Click on the start button located at the bottom left comer of your desktop
2.      Select the programs option from the start menu
3.      Select the Microsoft PowerPoint option from the programs submenu
The PowerPoint dialog box is displayed as  shown in Figure 1.1

The five options in the PowerPoint dialog box are :
¾ AutoContent Wizard ___ guides you through a series of dialog boxes for creating a new presentation .
¾ Design Template ___ allows you to use built-in designs that contain color schemes and design elements, which provide a background for a slide.
¾ Blank presentation __ opens a presentation, which has no elements or design background in place.
¾ Open an existing presentation ___ opens an open dialog box to locate a PowerPoint file that has previously  been saved.
¾ Don’t show this dialog box ageing ___ disables the display of this dialog box when you restart PowerPoint.

Creating a Blank Presentation
The steps to create a blank presentation are:
1.            Select the Blank presentation oprtion from the PowerPoint opening dialog box
The New slide dialog box is displayed as shown in Figure 1.2

This dialog box displays various types of Auto layouts or placeholders to enter slide contents. These placeholders include title, bulleted  lists, ClipArt, organization charts, movie clips and charts.
2.            Select a suitable layout is displayed.
3.            Click Ok
          The blank slide with the selected layout is displayed.
Creating a Presentation Using the AutoContent Wizard are:
1.     Select AutoContent Wizard option from the PowerPoint dialog box
2.     Click Ok

The AutoContent  Wizard dialog box is displayed shown in Figure 1.3

On the left side of this dialog box is list of steps that the Wizard helps you go through. You can navigate through the items in the list by selecting the Next or the Back buttons. 
3.     Click Next
A dialog box as shown in Figure 1.4 is displayed.

In this dialog box, you can select the category of the presentation to be created. When you select a button by Clicking on it, the presentation types within that  category are listed to the right of the button . If you want to see all the presentation types in the list, select the All button.
4.     After selecting the presentation type, Click on the Next button to proceed
A dialog box as shown in Figure 1.5  displayed.
5--PPPPPP
This dialog box allows you to designate the medium on which you will generate the presentation.
5.     Click Next.
A dialog box as shown in Figure 1.6 is displayed.
6--PPPPPP
This dialog box allows you to enter some information for the presentation, including the presentation title and the items to be included on each slide like the last pupation date and the slide numbers.
6. After entering this information, Click on the Next button The dialog box as shown in Figure 1.7 is displayed.
